Dr. Rick Wilson honored by the Journal of Advertising

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Dr. Rick T. Wilson, professor in the Department of Marketing at Texas State University’s McCoy College of Business, has been honored with the Outstanding Editorial Board Member Reviewer Award by the Journal of Advertising.

Dr. Wilson was recognized at the recent 2024 American Academy of Advertising (AAA) conference, held March 14-17, 2024, in Portland, Oregon.

“It’s an honor to serve one of academia’s premier marketing journals helping to shape advertising theory,” Dr. Wilson said. “Having an opportunity to provide feedback and helping other researchers improve their work for publication is a very rewarding experience.”

Dr. Sigal Segev, AAA President, offered congratulations to Dr. Wilson and McCoy College via email, calling the award a significant accomplishment.

“AAA’s owned Journal of Advertising stands as a pivotal publication in the field of marketing and advertising, offering an essential platform for scholars to share innovative research and insights and provide recommendations that help shape advertising theory and strategic marketing communication practice,” Dr. Segev wrote. “AAA plays a key role in fostering the growth and excellence of the advertising and strategic communication disciplines.”

Dr. Segev also wrote that the American Academy of Advertising values the participation and contributions of its members, recognizing that advancements in the field are generated by the innovative research and practices developed in academic institutions like the McCoy College of Business. ✯
