  • Karina Rodriguez Leal
    BBA in Finance 2024

    Karina recently graduated summa cum laude from Texas State University. She will be working as a Client Solutions Associate at FactSet in Austin, Texas.


    Ronnie Ray Garcia
    BBA in Management 2024

    A student business owner of Ace Sandblasting and Restoration, Ronnie has grown his business to be one of the largest and most reputable sandblasting firms in the state with multiple service locations. He is also a recent winner of the 2024 Austin Award.


    Ruby Villanueva-Kellough
    BBA in Management 2023

    Ruby specializes in providing strategic guidance to minority-owned enterprises. She currently serves as a business counselor in the Small and Minority Business Resource Department (SMBR) for the City of Austin, promoting equity and economic opportunities for minority-owned businesses. Recently, she represented SMBR in a $1.6 million construction project in downtown Austin.


    Nicole Moffitt
    MAcy 2022

    Nicole passed all four sections of the CPA exam and has begun her career as audit associate at EY in San Antonio.

  • James Sherman
    BBA in Economics 2018

    James moved to Waco, and he is working for Higginbotham Insurance as an employee benefits producer focusing on partnering with business executives to provide cost containment strategies and risk management in the middle market. He is getting married in June to Anna Jennings (Yale 20, Baylor Law 25).


    Matthew Detmar
    BBA in Management 2013

    During his last semester at Texas State, Matthew started a trucking business that moved sand for the oil and gas industry. The business now owns 175 trucks and 200 trailers. The company has shifted its platform to run  trucks on renewable natural gas, leading to emissions and costs savings for customers. Through this venture, Matthew diversified and became an equity partner in Las Palapas restaurants in San Antonio. He currently resides in Houston with his wife, Ashton, and their three boys.

  • Dana Rovira
    BBA in Finance 2008

    Dana was recently promoted to Senior Manager - Franchise Recruiting and Engagement for Ameriprise Franchise Group. Beyond helping advisors grow their practices, she also recruits experienced advisors and new advisors to the firm. Her first granddaughter will be born in September 2024.

  • Gregory Shaver 
    BBA in Finance 1987

    Gregory was recently promoted to chief lending officer at CBC Federal Credit Union, an $870 million federally insured financial cooperative. He oversees the commercial, real estate, and consumer lending departments. CBC has a loan-to-share ratio of 102%, one of the highest in California.
