Admissions Requirements
Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
The DBA program will admit new students only in the fall and spring semesters for the first year, and it will then re-evaluate opening admissions in the summer semester. The admission requirements for the proposed program, and the steps used in admitting students into the proposed program, are the following:
- Seven years or more of professional business experience.
- Completion of a master’s degree in a business-related area from an accredited college or university, with a competitive GPA.
In addition, applicants must submit:
- A completed online application.
- $55 non-refundable application fee or $90 non-refundable application fee for applicants
with international credentials. - Official transcripts from each institution where course credit was granted.
- Resume/CV outlining education, professional and technical achievements,
scholarships/grants, publications/presentations, other accomplishments. - Statement of purpose outlining the applicant’s personal history and goals that are relevant
to obtaining this doctoral degree. - Three letters of recommendation evaluating the applicant’s skill and potential in the
proposed program.
Select candidates will also have to participate in an interview.
International Applicants
Applicants are required to submit an approved English proficiency exam score that meets the minimum program requirements below unless they have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a country on our exempt countries list.
- official TOEFL iBT scores required with a 78 overall and minimum individual module
scores of- 19 listening
- 19 reading
- 19 speaking
- 18 writing
- official PTE scores required with a 52 overall
- official IELTS (academic) scores required with a 6.5 overall and minimum individual module scores of 6.0
- official Duolingo scores required with a 110 overall
- official TOEFL Essentials scores required with an 8.5 overall
In very rare circumstances, the doctoral program director reserves the right to admit a student with a significant amount of relevant corporate experience even if the student does not have a master's degree. Students entering with only a bachelor's degree will be required to take 18 foundational credit hours, thus needing 72 credit hours to graduate.
