Colleen Dean, Managing Director, J.P. Morgan Private Bank
As a J.P. Morgan Client Advisor, Colleen Dean develops and manages relationships with individuals, families, corporate executives and foundations. She is responsible for evaluating the resources available throughout the firm to determine which are best suited and most appropriate for each client’s current and future needs. Dean gains a thorough understanding of her clients’ goals and priorities, and then collaborates with J.P. Morgan specialists to ensure a holistic and comprehensive recommended plan. Her team of specialists provides expertise in liquidity management, lending solutions, investments, philanthropy, wealth transfer and estate planning.
Dean began her financial services career with J.P. Morgan in Credit Analysis and Underwriting in Houston, Texas in 1986. She then joined the firm’s Oilfield Service and Manufacturing Commercial Lending Group, followed by Human Resources and Loan Review. Dean joined J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s Fort Worth office in 1992. In 2001, she relocated to the San Antonio office, where she continues to serve J.P. Morgan Private Bank clients. Dean is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the Series 7, 9, 10, 63, and 24 licenses.
Dean currently serves on the McCoy College of Business advisory board; is a director and immediate past Board Chair for the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, and advisory director for The Nature Conservancy in Texas. Other community affiliations include Texas Lion’s Camp, prior Trustee for Southwest School of Art and prior Treasurer for the Cancer Center Council.
Dean has an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from The University of Texas and a B.S. in Home Economics from Texas State University.
Thompson Smith, Analyst, J.P. Morgan Private Bank
Thompson Smith is an Analyst with J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank, where he joined in April of 2017. His team serves the Central Texas market, and delivers tailored solutions to clients regarding wealth transfer, investing, leverage, philanthropy, and management of multi-generational wealth.
Prior to J.P. Morgan, Smith worked as a senior customer solutions specialist at GuideStone Financial Resources serving individual and institutional clients with their retirement goals. Smith received his B.B.A and M.B.A from Dallas Baptist University. While at DBU, he was a member of the Patriot golf team.
Smith is currently a Level 1 candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst®. He and his wife, Hope are active members of Northrock Church in north San Antonio and serve at Haven for Hope, a homeless ministry in central San Antonio.
