Bob Carroll has over 30 years of senior executive management experience in public and private companies. He has served in the roles of President and CEO of 13 companies, and Chairman of 7 companies. Since 2010 Carroll has served as Chairman of SouthWest Water Company, a California based water utility business, providing water services in 4 states, including 31 counties in the state of Texas.
Since 1993 Carroll has also been the Principal in Roscommon Limited, a Dallas-based investment and consulting practice providing specialized support in operations management, turnarounds, acquisitions, and divestitures. As Chairman & CEO of Dallas based AMX Corporation (NASDAQ) from 2001 to 2005 he took the company from the verge of bankruptcy, with $28M in liabilities and less than $1M in cash, to a $315M cash sale of the business in 3 ½ years.
Some of Carroll’s other experience includes Chairman & CEO of BEI Holding Corporation where he directed operations for leverage buyout investments in broadcast businesses, Chairman & CEO of Applied Engineering where under his leadership it became one of Apple Computers largest 3rd party developers, CompuTrac (AMEX) where in a 3 yr timeframe he executed a secondary IPO, taking its stock from $2 ¾ to $36 (adj for splits) and Micom Data Systems, where as a cofounder revenue grew from $3.5M to $75M in under 5 years. The company was acquired by Netherlands based Philips NV.
In 2004 Carroll was recognized by the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex Technology Business Council with the “CEO of the Year Award.” However he is most proud to receive the award “Best Place to Work In Dallas Fort Worth” designated to AMX in 2005.
