Elisa Sepulveda is an experienced operator and investor. She specializes in business development, go-to-market strategy, and fundraising. Before working at Angel Ventures, she was an entrepreneur-in-residence with MATH Venture Partners, a pre-seed and seed venture capital firm. At MATH, she saw the complete investment cycle from the first meeting through portfolio company support. Elisa was also a local director of Founder Institute Texas, a pre-seed accelerator where she helped graduate 64 entrepreneurs and expand the program from Austin to Dallas and Houston. She is confident in her ability to scale from 0 to 1 at the earliest stages of a company’s development.
Elisa has worked at the intersection of technology, policy, and community for the last ten years with IBM, CognitiveScale, Galvanize, and the Riveter. Elisa was on the commercialization team for IBM’s Watson, where she gained her base of knowledge in artificial intelligence. After IBM, she joined her first startup at CognitiveScale and continued to build communities for AI with Galvanize. At the Riveter, Elisa managed six locations of the coworking facility and developed education programs for women who work.
Elisa has an MBA and a Master’s in Industrial Labor Relations from Cornell University. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College in City Planning as an undergraduate. When she isn’t advising startups, Elisa serves on the board of DivInc, a nonprofit accelerator for women and people of color. She likes to spend her free time with her horse, Watson, showing in local hunter/jumper shows, and her miniature schnauzer, Lola “Potato.”
