Dan Roy is a graduate of St. Mary's University in San Antonio where he received a BBA in Corporate Financial Management. After a brief stint in corporate banking, Dan embarked on a 25-year entrepreneurial journey during which he started three successful companies.
His first company would go on to achieve local and regional prominence. In January 2017, after 23 years as CEO, he retired from the Board of Directors following the completion of the company’s sale to one of the largest employee-owned staffing organizations in the country.
In 2018, Dan joined Texas State University as an Entrepreneur in Residence in the McCoy College of Business where he helped to found the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and was instrumental in the development of the University’s new minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
In 2023, Dan joined McCoy’s Building Supply as Director of University Engagement to support company and family efforts at numerous colleges and universities. Dan has served on the State Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Business, as Chair of the Board for the Greater San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, as Chair of the Board for an independent K-8 school, and on numerous community and non-profit boards.
Dan has earned a reputation for innovation, entrepreneurship, and organizational development. He has a strong record of visionary leadership and advises on organizational alignment, culture, strategy, and innovation. He currently serves as an Advisory Director for the San Marcos region of Frost Bank and advises numerous startups in the Austin area.
