Katie Harvey

Katie Harvey (’91) is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of KGBTexas Communications, one of the largest woman-owned, full-service communications agencies in Texas. With over 30 years of experience, Katie is a respected leader in the communications industry and a tireless community advocate.

Katie began her career after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications/Advertising from Southwest Texas State University in 1991. In 1994, she founded KGBTexas Communications, which has since grown to employ over 50 professionals and generate over $15 million in annual revenue. The firm is known for its impactful campaigns and strategic communications that have shaped the economic and social landscapes of Texas, including projects such as the Vista Ridge Pipeline, Southwest Airlines Hobby Airport Terminal expansion, and the OneSA Initiative, among others.

Beyond her professional success, Katie is a dedicated community leader. She recently served as Board Chair for the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and currently holds board positions with the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Campaign and the United Way’s Women United Advisory Council. Her long-standing commitment to civic engagement also includes service to organizations including the San Antonio Children's Shelter, the Texas Business Hall of Fame, and many others.

Katie has been recognized for her professional and civic contributions with numerous awards such as the PRSA Lifetime Achievement Award, the San Antonio Women's Chamber of Commerce Constellation of Stars Award, and the San Antonio Business Journal Women's Leadership Award. She has also been recognized with the Outstanding Alumna Award from Texas State University.
