Dan Roy currently serves as Co-Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Texas State University and as Entrepreneur-in-Residence in the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University. He is a graduate of St. Mary's University in San Antonio where he received a BBA in Corporate Financial Management. After a brief stint in corporate banking, Dan returned to Texas and embarked on a 25-year entrepreneurial journey in which he started three successful companies that were each deeply committed to the core values of integrity, caring, and excellence.

His first company would go on to achieve local and regional prominence. It was ranked the 29th fastest-growing staffing firm in the United States, awarded “Regional Large Business of the Year” by the Texas Association of Business, and recognized as a distinguished employer by the Texas Workforce Commission. In January 2017, after 23 years as CEO, he retired from the Board of Directors following the completion of the sale of the company to one of the largest employee-owned staffing organizations in the country.

Dan founded two additional companies: a specialty crating and assembly firm, which provided solutions to manufacturers, and a retail research and development company focused on the human capital challenges of the retail industry. The retail company developed and tested staffing models for many top brands and was instrumental in securing the adoption of the Customer Service and Skills Standards in Texas.

Dan was also part of a national effort to develop a certification credentialing program that provides foundational employability skills to help people land jobs and receive promotions in retail stores and beyond. To date, over 50,000 jobseekers have been trained nationally as a result of these efforts.

Dan has served on the State Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Business, as Chairman of the Board for the Greater San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board for an independent K-8 school, and on numerous community and non-profit boards.

Dan has earned a reputation for innovation and organizational development. He has a strong record of visionary leadership in education as well as in economic and organizational development. He advises on organizational alignment, strategy, and innovation. He currently serves as an Advisory Director for the San Marcos region of Frost Bank, for the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University, and advises numerous startups in the Austin area. ✯
